“They are making progress”- Former Blue gives prediction ahead of Arsenal clash

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has revealed his prediction for tonight’s game against Arsenal, believing it is a “dangerous” game for the Gunners.

The Blues travel to the Emirates to take on the league leaders, knowing a win would move them up to seventh and all but end Arsenal’s title hopes.

Mikel Arteta’s side returned to winning ways at the weekend beating Wolves 2-0, following defeats to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich.

The Blues head to north London sitting ninth in the table, but have showed signs of improvement in the 6-0 win against Everton, and were the better side against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi final despite coming up short.

Ex-Blue Sutton believes his former club can cause Arsenal problems, describing it as a dangerous game for the Gunners.

“Arsenal bounced back from a bad week really well against Wolves on Saturday and won comfortably, but Chelsea put in a good performance too despite losing their FA Cup semi-final to Manchester City”, Sutton said in his column on BBC Sport.

“This feels like a really dangerous game for the Gunners, and the rivalry between the two clubs is going to be a big factor as well.

“Chelsea probably should have beaten them at Stamford Bridge in October but let a two-goal lead slip late on.

“They are making progress under Mauricio Pochettino but they still have a habit of shooting themselves in the foot like they did that day.”

“So, I am backing Arsenal to find a way of winning this one – although again it is going to be extremely close. Arsenal 2-1.”

The Blues could be without star man Cole Palmer, who is a doubt with illness, whilst both Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell miss out through injury.

Chelsea’s record at the Emirates isn’t bad with the Blues winning two of their previous four visits but they did suffer a 3-1 defeat last season.
