Jody Morris is only an assistant manager, but he’s managed to attract plenty of media attention this season.
Apart from being a well loved former player and ridiculously successful youth team coach, part of his notoriety this season has come from an Instagram post he made in the Autumn.
Morris on emoji-gate: "People misread my laughing emoji at Jose's comments, I have nothing but the upmost respect for Jose. I think he is one of the best manager & legends in the game. I was laughing at 'I don't think he is worried about whether we are winning games or not'" #CFC

He posted an Instagram story featuring laughing faces in response to Jose Mourinho’s comments about being “worried” about Chelsea.
In quotes carried by Nizaar Kinsella on Goal.com that you can see above, Morris has clarified that he was actually laughing at the idea that Mourinho cared at all rather than laughing at the former Blues boss for being wrong.
That’s totally reasonable, and it’s all been a massive storm in a teacup either way, but Morris will know for the future that he can avoid a lot of these problems by just staying off social media entirely.
These things can always come back to haunt you, and it’s better to just give people no ammunition at all.
