New contract for Oscar

Chelsea Football Club have today announced that Oscar dos Santos Emboaba Junior has today penned a new five-year deal lasting until 2019.

This news comes after a string of fantastic performances from the budding midfielder.

The young Brazilian signed for Chelsea in 2012 for £20 million.

The 23-year old tweeted ‘Until 2019 my heart will keep on pumping Blue blood!’ with the hashtags ComeOnChelsea, ComeOnBlues, CFC and Oscar8, all highlighting his evident love for the club. We love you too, Osc.

He burst onto the scene in his Champions League debut after scoring two stunning goals against Juventus.

To many people’s surprise, he outplayed Juan Mata, taking his place in the team for the first few months of last season, and the Spaniard was then sold the next January. This came as a huge shock, because Mata had been Chelsea Player of the Year for the past two seasons.

Nothing against Oscar, though. Many regard him as the future of this Mourinho side, hoping to emulate the success of Frank Lampard in the role.

If the next five years are half as successful as Lampard’s career then Chelsea fans will be ecstatic. We look on course to win the league this time around, and there is talk of us repeating the achievements of Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’, much to the dismay of their fans.

How ever far Chelsea go in the not-so-distant future, Oscar is all set to be pivotal in that.

We want to wish Oscar and Chelsea the best of luck over the next five years and beyond.

Come on Chelsea!
