Mourinho unsure over Diego Costa fitness

Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is unsure whether Diego Costa will be able to play Swansea this Saturday following injury.

The striker left international duty early after injuring his hamstring while in action with Spain, and has not yet been passed fit to play this weekend.

Speaking to the press ahead of Swansea’s visit to the Bridge, Mourinho said of Costa’s fitness:

Diego came back injured on Saturday so he’s had one week to work with the medical department. He has a chance to play.

“He has a training session to see where we are”, he added.

The Special One said that if Costa was to not make the cut in time to play on Saturday, then Chelsea fans are likely to get a first glance at new signing Loic Remy, who would replace him.

Mourinho went on to say that the squad has no other injury worries, easy fears that Eden Hazard would not be ready to face the Welsh side on Saturday.

Both the sides have 100% records in the league so far and before the conference finished, Mourinho praised Garry Monk’s Swansea team.

They [Swansea] have had a good team since they were promoted. It’s a good team with good players.

“I don’t think they’ve lost any players. They bought well and invest seriously”, Jose finished.
