Mourinho: Torres hasn’t asked to leave Chelsea

Speaking to the press ahead of his side’s trip to Everton this Saturday, Mourinho revealed that he hasn’t yet heard from Torres over the striker leaving.

Torres looks to be on the verge of a move the AC Milan but, with the deal set to go through, Mourinho revealed he hasn’t yet heard from the striker:

He didn’t speak with me. We need three strikers to face the season. He is one of them. I like him.

“If he [Torres] wants to leave – and I have not heard that from him – any possibility would be analysed [loan or transfer]”, he added.

If Torres leaves, it is because he wants to be happier than he was here in the last couple of years”.

Despite Mourinho claiming Torres has not asked to leave yet, Mourinho certainly spoke as if he knew a deal was imminent to take the striker to Italy.

He also confirmed that Diego Costa hadn’t trained for two days after picking up an injury in training on Wednesday, but revealed that he is desperate for Costa to play.

Costa didn’t train for the last couple of days… We are trying everything for him to play tomorrow.

“Apart from Costa, everybody is fit”, Mourinho confirmed.

With Torres set to leave the club, Mourinho will be looking to get a striker in before the transfer deadline next week.
