Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has hailed his fellow teammate Diego Costa for his wonderful performances. Costa has being banging in the goals since joining the West London club last summer on a £32 million deal from Atletico Madrid.
The Serbian midfielder was full of praise for the striker, who scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea during their 4-2 win over Swansea City last weekend. Matic also disclosed that the 25-year-old goal poacher is very vital to the team.
The former Benfica player also wished CostaÂ’s current scoring form continues and he becomes a complete player.
“Diego is very important for us, he’s a great striker, he scored three goals and that’s why Chelsea bought him,” Matic told Chelsea’s official website during an interview.
“I hope he will continue to score goals; he works very hard on the pitch, not only offensively but defensively as well.”
Costa has scored seven goals in his four Barclays premier League appearances for Chelsea. He has also won the Barclays Premier League player for the month of September.
