Joe Cole: Lampard still got something to offer

Former Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole claims that Frank Lampard still has something to offer England despite his age. England has been eliminated from the 2014 FIFA World Cup and would prepare for Euro 2016.

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard earned a place in the starting line-up of England’s final match against Costa Rica in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Cole believes he was impressive on that day.

Joe Cole also said that his passes and overall effort in the game were perfect, to the extent that Lampard was The Three LionsÂ’ best player in the match for him.

“He looked a class player, which he is and, at 36, he has probably still got something left to offer England.” Cole told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT.

“I thought Frank Lampard was England’s best player (against Costa Rica).”

“You have a lot of players in the England team now who play short passes and move the ball quickly and Frank was so clever with his passing. We played the ball into him a few times and he immediately looked to get Daniel Sturridge in behind the Costa Rica defence.” He added.

The 36-year-old is yet to make a decision about his England future after the World Cup. He is EnglandÂ’s highest scoring midfielder with 29 goals.
