Crystal Palace boss hails Mourinho

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has paid tribute to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho ahead of their meeting in the Premier League this weekend.

The two London rivals meet on Saturday afternoon and Jose Mourinho has been receiving glowing praise from the manager who will be in the opposing dugout come kickoff.

Speaking to the press ahead of the clash, Warnock said:

I think he is the best there is, I always have done.

“I just think he has signed well. It is alright having money but he knew he hadn’t got a striker last year”, Warnock explained.

“In the January window if he had signed a striker he probably would have won the league last year.”

“This year they have signed at least two quality players and I think they are a little notch above everybody else.”

He is a good manager, he is a players’ manager.

“I think he is the nearest thing to (Nigel) Cloughie really”, he explained.

“His team always want to play well and when it comes to the tough games I think tactically he is spot on,” he finished.

Chelsea narrowly lost in the corresponding fixture last season which had a huge effect on their title hopes as the Special One’s team went on to finish third in the table behind Manchester City and Liverpool.
