Former Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole has arrived in Italy to complete his move to AS Roma today.

The 33-year-old defender is a free agent following his release by Chelsea earlier this summer. Cole has been linked with a number of clubs since then, but it looks like his destination will be Roma after the club tweeted his arrival in Rome via their official twitter account.

Ashley Cole’s agent Jonathan Barnett, said: “Ashley is out there and we are hoping it will be finalised today.â€
According to the Italian media, Cole is set to sign a two-year deal worth around £1.82m, with an option for a third season.
Ashley Cole made 338 appearances for Chelsea finding the net 7 times. He won the Champions League, the Premier League, the Europa League, the League Cup, the Community Shield and the FA Cup four times during his 8 year spell at Stamford Bridge.
