Chelsea left back Cristián Cuevas has joined Universidad de Chile on loan. The Chile international joined Chelsea in the Summer of 2013 following a successful trial.
Shortly after the signing was announced, the Blues decided to loan him to partner club Vitesse Armhem where he joined fellow Chelsea players such as Patrick Van Aanholt, Gaël Kakuta, Sam Hutchinson and Christian Atsu.
The 19-year-old began his career at O’Higgins and has represented his national side at under-twenty level 12 times.
It will be interesting to see if he will feature in Chelsea’s first team, unlike many others who have been sold on.
