Chelsea face Juve competition for prolific Croatian

According to various sources, Chelsea and Juventus are leading the race to sign Croation sensation, Andrej Kramaric.

Reports in Croatia suggest Kramaric’s representatives have recently held talks with both Juventus and Chelsea in the past few weeks, with Chelsea particularly interested in bringing the Croatian to West London.

Kramaric has been attracting interest from around Europe with a recent bid from Leicester City for £7.9million rejected, with the player also reportedly holding out for a move to a bigger club, with Juventus and Chelsea favourites for his signature.

Kramaric, currently plays for Rijeka in his native homeland, Croatia. The Croatian forward has been in sensational goal scoring form this season, with the forward netting an astonishing 28 goals in 28 games, already bettering his impressing record of 27 goals in 34 appearances last season. Kramaric, 23 years old, has been likened to Croatian legend Davor Suker for his ability to find the back of the net and his ability to score goals with both feet.

While Chelsea currently have Costa, Drogba and Remy on their books, there are murmurs around Stamford Bridge that this could be DrogbaÂ’s penultimate season in top flight football, with the Ivorian powerhouse turning 37 in March. This would open up a spot for Kramaric, with Mourinho explicitly stating that he wants three top strikers in his squad, with reports suggesting that Mourinho sees the young Croat as an ideal long term replacement for Drogba, should the Chelsea legend decide to retire at the end of the season.

Kramaric has 6 months remaining on his current deal, which means he will be a free agent in the summer, allowing him to sign a pre-contract and sign on a free transfer in the summer, and it is expected that he would earn around £20k a week.
