Cech’s agent hints at Chelsea stay

Petr Cech’s agent has revealed that both he and his client have no interest in leaving the Bridge and have not been told that Cech is up for sale.

Sky Sports report that Cech’s agent, Viktor Kolar, has told the media that they have ‘received no signals’ that Mourinho wants rid of the legendary goalkeeper.

There has been speculation over the future of the Czech international since it was confirmed that the excellent Thibaut Courtois would return to Chelsea as the first choice shot-stopper after three seasons on loan in Spain.

With Cech reportedly not wanting to play second fiddle to the Belgian keeper, and obviously having some very good years left in him, it seemed almost certain he would be on his way during the summer transfer window.

However, these latest quotes from Kolar suggest otherwise:

Nothing changes. He has 2 years left on his Chelsea contract and has an interest to continue there.

“Mourinho did not tell him he would not count on him anymore. We have received no signals that Petr would be sold”, he added.

“Petr is one of the world’s top goalkeepers and has a certain salary. There are not many clubs who could afford to sign him…for now he is staying at Chelsea.”

Petr isn’t 20 anymore. His family are satisfied living in London. Petr is satisfied at Chelsea.

“Petr is successfully continuing his recovery from his injury. He will be ready for the start of the pre-season preparation”, Kolar finished.

He did, however, reveal that French giants PSG and Monaco had “shown interest” and there had been “communication”.

However, he very obviously states that Cech is happy at Chelsea and Chelsea seem to be happy with him.

Cech is currently recovering from an arm injury picked up in the Champions League and his agent says he’ll be ready for the beginning of pre-season in West London.

So, the 32 year old who has been Chelsea’s number one for 10 years looks to have at least another year left in the tank at Chelsea.
