Can Chelsea go unbeaten in the league this season?

It’s no doubt that Chelsea deserve to be top of the league so far this season. We have looked comfortable during most of our games and have been able to adapt well whether we are playing an attacking game versus Aston Villa at home. Or when we have had to use a more defensive approach against Man City away.

Our home record under Mourinho is magnificent; just losing 1 home league game under him. But that doesn’t mean we won’t slip up. The way we have played our home games so far has been excellent, the likes of Costa, Fabregas and Hazard have helped us constantly out score the opposition.

Not forgetting the versatile midfield with the likes of Matic, Mikel and Ramires all playing their part when called upon. The defence however haven’t kept as many clean sheets as we would of maybe have liked. But if that improves, which it has looked to in our last few games we certainly have a good shout of going the season unbeaten in the league at home.

Away games are a different matter though. So far Chelsea have had two of the toughest away fixtures in the league in Everton and Man City; both matches we came away from the game with a good result. We still have tough trips to The Emirates, Anfield and Old Trafford though. Not forgetting the likes of trips to places we struggled at last season such as Villa Park and Selhurst Park.

But it’s no doubt Chelsea are a different side to last season with our new signings playing a massive part. Fabregas picking out wonderful passes allowing players to be through on goal. Also Costa, a firing striker who has started the season wonderfully.

A player we have lacked since we won the champions league. If these two players keep up the excellent start they have had and if the rest of the team also keep playing and linking up the way they have I don’t see why we can’t go unbeaten.

But one thing is for sure it will be an extremely tough task. It’s something we may never see in the Premier league again, as the league keeps getting better each year.
