Blues monitoring Serie A winger

The 26 year-old has been subject to much speculation since his impressive World Cup display, with Manchester United seemingly close to securing his signature in the summer.

Fiorentina’s number 11, who has appeared 84 times for the Serie A side (including a spell their on loan), will reportedly cost the club £26.8 million. It seems that the deal may be funded by the departure of Andre Schurrle, as Mourinho may be looking for a one in, one out move.

Cuadrado has all the attributes to be a fantastic winger in the Premier League; pacey, strong and with very quick feet, the Blues may be looking for someone to challenge Willian’s position in the starting line-up.

Cuadrado has netted five goals this season in 23 club appearances, and his arrival could end a miserable few months for Chelsea’s Andre Schurrle, who has been disappointing since his Wolrd Cup victory in the summer.

The talk at this stage suggest that the Blues have only made an enquiry, although the Telegraph and the Independant are reporting that a bid will soon be made.
