Blues lead race for Dortmund star

With what seems to be becoming a race amongst European giants including Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, reports suggest Mourinho had made Marco Reus his number one target for the summer.

According to the Daily Express and Metro, Mourinho has spoken to Chelsea officials about signing the German international, with Chelsea reportedly ready to begin talks with Reus’ agent.

Mourinho wants to add the German international to increase his firepower in the squad, with Reus expected to replace Willian in the starting XI, with the special one reportedly willing to release Schurrle and Salah in order to ensure the deal goes through.

Reus has a release clause set to a release clause set to £20m which becomes activated in the summer, which is more than affordable for the West London club. Borussia Dortmund are also interested in Andre Schurrle, with a possible swap deal being mooted according to various reports in both Germany. Furthermore, Reus would represent more than a bargain for the West London club, and with his price tag set at £20m, Chelsea would still fall in line with FFP rules and regulations.

It is expected that Reus will leave Dortmund in the summer, especially with Dortmund massively underperforming, with the German club currently lying in the relegation zone, only 1 point above bottom based club, Vfb Stuttgart.

Despite Dortmund being placed bottom of the Bundesliga and under-performing this season, Reus has played 9 games, scoring 5 goals along the way.
