“It’s been a bit better” – Chelsea’s new star joins the club insisting that improvement is happening

Malo Gusto went home early from international duty this week, but still found time for an interview with Eurosport in his home country of France.

They were keen to know his assessment of how he thought his time at Chelsea was going, 9 months after arriving and almost 18 months after first agreeing to sign for the club.

They timed the interview well. This last stretch has seen Gusto in his best form since coming to the club, putting in some great performances and attracting a lot of attention from up and down the league:

“[Things are going] really well. There’s a lot of French people, but even the club is great and has done everything so that I can really get on with things. Honestly, I’m really happy with my choice.

“We’re a young team. We know it’s taken a bit of time to gel. Now we’re working daily to create a united group. We know it’s been a bit better over the past few games, so we’re trying to keep that going.”

Now if only he can get the rest of the team to his level, we’ll really be onto something.

This looks set to be a disappointing season considering our high expectations last summer, but without doubt one of the brightest spots will be Gusto’s performances and his steady improvement over the season.
