Atletico Madrid still interested in Costa – despite threat of complaint

La Liga side Atletico Madrid are said to still be interested in luring striker Diego Costa back to the Spanish side for next season, despite the fact Chelsea have stated they’ll report them to FIFA unless they back off.

The Independent are reporting that West London side Chelsea are not happy by Atletico’s pursuit of the Spanish striker, and have now warned Costa’s former employer that they’ll be reported to FIFA because Madrid’s president, Enrique Cerezo, commented on the situation stating that a deal was close, before backtracking on his comments.

Costa had a season to forget at Stamford Bridge last year, despite the sacking of Jose Mourinho and arrival of club favourite Guus Hiddink, the striker never managed to get the ball rolling for his standards.

Probably because of his season last year, he has been linked with a return to his former club since the end of the season, with reports growing once the arrival of Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi had been confirmed.
