Conte admits Chelsea still need five more signings

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted to Roman Abramovich that he will need five more signings to make this current squad into serious title contenders again.

The Mirror are reporting that the Italian manager presented his demands in a fierce two-hour meeting with owner Abramovich, director Marina Granovskaia and technical director Michael Emenalo.

The former Juventus boss has highlighted his fear of not being able to lead this current Chelsea side to the Premier League title if signings are not made in every department.

Michy Batshuyi is one of Antonio Conte’s recruitments this summer.

The report goes on to add that the meeting between the manager and the board to place in an Austrian hotel following the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Rapid Vienna last Saturday.

The defeat in the first pre-season game was Conte’s first proper chance to look at some of the squad he has to his possession, excluding those who featured in this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.

According to the report, Blues owner Abramovich walked away from the discussions looking less than impressed, and one more meeting was held the next day before the Russian billionaire watched the following training session.
