Courtois wary of Crouch’s aerial threat

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibault Courtois has disclosed that he is wary of striker Peter Crouch’s aerial abilities as they clash this weekend.

Courtois further stressed that he will have to come out and help his defenders during crosses, as it is difficult to win headers against Crouch.

The Stoke City striker is currently on level with legendary Alan Shearer for 46 headed goals Premier League record.

The 22-year-old was very cautious during the first leg at the Brittannia stadium last December, which Chelsea won 2-0, the youngster told Chelsea’s official wesbite ahead of the game.

Maybe it will be harder, but of course I have to try to help the team on that aspect because with the tall Peter Crouch it’s not easy for the defenders to win headers against him, so I have to help the defence. I hope I can do that.

“You know he is dangerous on crosses and corners so you have to approach it a little bit differently,” the Belgium shot-stopper added.

Maybe I will have to come for more crosses to shut down the danger and help the defenders in front of me.
