Ryan Bertrand is now officially a Southampton player.
Bertrand is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy that sadly did not make the cut for Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side. After a myriad of loan spells and around half a century of appearances it is now time for Bertrand to leave permanently.
As the deadline was closing the Saints managed to come to a deal with both Chelsea and Bertrand that will keep the left-back at Southampton for four and half years.

Bertrand departs Chelsea with 57 appearances for the Blues and two goals. While at Stamford Bridge the academy graduate also won the Champions League on his UCL debut and managed to get capped by both Great Britain and England.
