Reported Chelsea target Joao Miranda is set to sign for Manchester United according to Spanish press.
The 29-year-old who has been at the heart of Atlético’s title-winning defence is said to have been sold in the region of £24 million to the struggling Manchester outfit.
With former Mourinho mentor Louis Van Gaal undertaking a serious overhaul of the United squad, Miranda will be a welcome addition to a team that have lost two of their first team centre backs already this summer.
If the reports are true, Chelsea’s apparent link with the Brazilian will, of course, be null and void. However, with the substantial amount of money received from David Luiz’s sale to French champions PSG, you can all but guarantee the Chelsea boss will have a number of other targets caught in his snare.
