Chelsea Draw PSG in Quarter-Final Draw

Having disposed of European hopefuls, Galatasaray, at the second time of asking, Chelsea’s Champions League credentials are sure to be tested to the limits by free-spending PSG.

The French giants have been looking to stamp their authority on Europe’s elite club competition for a number of seasons and with one of the world’s most in-form strikers in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the Blues’ back line will need to ensure they are at full capacity to quell the Swedish phenomenon.

Edinson Cavani, a target rumoured to be on Mourinho’s shopping list will also have a point to prove as his time in the French capital has not exactly sparked fireworks.

The Uruguayan’s combination with fellow South American, Ezequiel Lavezzi, had nearly proven costly for the Blues’ back in 2012, however, the guile and resolve of Chelsea’s spirited squad meant they were on course for their greatest ever European night.

Chelsea Draw PSG: Mourinho’s squad will be hoping for more of the same

With Samuel Eto’o scoring important goals in recent games, ‘the pensioner’s’ inclusion has appeared more fruitful than first thought. PSG may have Zlatan, but Chelsea’s Eden Hazard is arguably the world’s greatest young talent at the minute and his scintillating form against Gala will surely spark him into action against a team vying for his signature.

Chelsea will first travel to Paris on Wednesday the 2nd of April, whilst the Blues will play host to the French champions on Tuesday the 8th of April.
