Mauricio Pochettino is giving his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Leicester in the FA Cup, and the biggest news, as ever, was to do with injuries.
As was assumed from the injury report released earlier this morning, Ben Chilwell is back and ready to play again after missing the game against Newcastle earlier this week.
That’s a huge relief. The fears were that his problem was quite severe when we heard so much about a knee issue in last Thursday’s presser. We then didn’t get an update on him on Monday. But when we saw the left back named in the England squad our hopes were raised, and today Pochettino has confirmed he’s back and training.
That takes the pressure off Marc Cucurella, who played on Monday night after a long layoff. The two look certain to share minutes on Sunday as they are both carefully managed back to full fitness.
